CALLS have been made to carry out refurbishment to the outdoor swimming pool at Deadman's Point in Rosses Point.
Clr Declan Bree proposed a motion to improve the site. He said that Council engineers carried out an inspection and found that concrete slabs and steps had been damaged by the sea.
He added that the necessary money was not there.
Clr Bree explained: "I have concerns that swimmers using the pool might be injured if maintenance work is not carried out on it.
"If the Council does not have the funding to do the works, I would ask that the Executive might source funding from other agencies, possibly the tourism agency or Leader."
