Catering for Sligo brides and their mothers for 30 years
This week, we visit Simone's of Sligo, located on Hyde Bridge. The popular wedding shop celebrates its 30th birthday this June.
It was established by Bridie Flannery and Maura McSharry, both of whom still work there.
As well as being a leader in terms of exquisite dresses for brides and bridesmaids, which are located upstairs, the shop also caters for the proud mother of the bride.
Mary McGourty talks us through three outfits of the week.
She said: "It is important that the mother of the bride matches the bridal party at all times.
"Colours in for this spring/summer season are raspberry, gold and silver.
"When mother of the brides come into us the majority have an idea as to what they are searching for.
"They may have looked at our website and saw an idea on there."
Outfit one: This is by Luis Civit, a Spanish company.
"This striking raspberry colour is popular for the new season.
"It is only after coming in."
Mary teamed it with a matching fascinator from Snoxelles, a UK design company.
This outfit is €825.
Outfit two: The second outfit is by Carla Ruiz, another glamorous Spanish label that caters for mother of the bride.
"This is a burnt orange colour, again this is new to Simone's.
"It is priced at €320," Mary said.
Outfit three: The third look comes from Josephy Ribkoff, a long-established Canadian fashion company.
"This is a shift style polka dot outfit, in black and white with a cerise stripe.
"There is a nice button feature on the sleeve.
"The dress is €250 and the jacket is €168."
Mary added that the main brands for mother of the bride are Jomhoy, Presen, Luis Civit, Carla Ruiz and Condici, which is very popular.
"For casual wear, we have Betty Barclay, Gerry Weber, Eugen Klein and Basler and we also stock a range of Milano blouses made in Italy."
