Of the four people who were employed in Aviva's Sligo office, two have taken voluntary redundancy and the remaining two have transferred to Hastings.

Seán Egan, chief executive, Aviva Ireland, said Aviva had a long-standing successful relationship with Hastings Insurance Brokers.

He added: "Our goal throughout this transfer process was to ensure that our customers would continue to enjoy a high level of service and access to Aviva products.

"I am delighted our existing relationship has now been strengthened, with both companies focused on further expanding and growing our businesses into the future."

Enda Mulchrone, general manager of Hastings Insurance Brokers, said they were delighted to have been selected by Aviva to receive its commercial and associated personal lines business from its Sligo branch, located at Wine Street Car Park.

He continued: "We believe that the convenient location of Hastings' Sligo office with the Hastings reputation for customer service and value will provide for a smooth transition for Aviva's customers.

"We welcome Aviva's customers and look forward to meeting and forging long standing relationships with them all in the future."

As part of the transfer of business, Hastings Insurance Brokers will be in touch with Aviva customers and provide full details of their customer service contact information.
