He said: "The whole community in Banada, Tourlestrane, Tubbercurry and all of South Sligo is absolutely devastated and shocked by this awful tragedy.

"When I heard it I was in disbelief.

"I said this couldn't be true in a peaceful area like Banada.

"For a think like this to happen in a community is shocking.

"It's a terrible tragedy for the parents and the sister and brother left behind.

"They come from a large family and heartfelt sympathy goes out to them and indeed all their friends and neighbours.

"They are from Connolly Park originally and they are all decent, hardworking people.

"Shane and Carmel built a lovely house out in Banada and they moved out there to rear their family

"I have met so many members of the community who are so unbelievably stunned by what has happened."
