SLIGO HONOURED its war dead on the National Day of Commemoration.
A special ceremony took place outside City Hall on Sunday.
It paid tribute to all those who were killed in past wars, or on service with the UN.
Representatives of Sligo's Christian Churches, members of Sligo Borough Council and the military took part.
The Mayor, Councillor Marcella McGarry, laid a wreath.
There was a minute's silence and following the raising of the National Flag to full mast, an Honour Guard rendered honours and a trumpeter and drummer sounded the Last Post.
Music was provided by the Sligo Concert Band, Tom and Kate Gavin and Soprano, Eunjoo Goh.
