THE BALLYMOTE ghost estate, in which only one of 14 houses is occupied, may soon be sold.
Selling agent Ken Draper, of auctioneers Sherry Fitzgerald, said they were hopeful of completing a sale in the very near future.
He added that there had been "strong interest" in the estate.
The 13-house unfinished development has been on the market for €240,000, less than the cost of a single house in the estate only a few years ago.
Three of the houses are completed, three more are plastered internally, while seven are at what's called "shell stage."
There are sites for more houses along the front of the development, located in Keenaghan. For another €10,000 there is an option to buy an adjoining parcel of land for 33 more housing units. Mr
. Draper said the full package was on offer for €250,000.
The houses initially went on sale in 2007 with price tags of €250,000 and €245,000.
Only one house has ever been occupied in the development.
