MCR parents would like play facilities for young children

Sligo County Council meeting

Parents living near the Fairgreen play park in the MCR area would like to see more facilities there for small children, as opposed to cycle lanes and pitches for older teenagers.

That's according to Cllr Chris MacManus who was debating Cllr Declan Bree's motion looking for an update on the park.

Cllr Bree was told that the next phase of the Fairgreen to be built depends on whether the Council gets a Sports Capital Grant, which won't be known until the Autumn.

Cllr Healy also asked for a barrier or fencing at the exit in case a child ran out onto the road but was told the Council had "no immediate plans for that."
