GEEVAGH -- all the news

HISTORICAL TALK -- The first talk of the winter season with Tirerrill Historical Society will be in Highwood Community Centre on Monday, November 5th starting at 8pm and will be given by Padraig Griffin.

His talk is entitled "Echoes of the Great War" (1914-18). Everyone is welcome to come along. The annual Christmas Dinner will be in Cromleach Lodge on Sunday, December 2nd.


The numbers involved in the various ministries associated with St. Joseph's Church has fallen over the past while. Fr. Cullen issued an appeal recently for new volunteers to consider getting involved. He said adult readers were particularly needed and indeed there were a number of gaps in the other rotas as well such as the collectors, the altar society and the church grounds. Geevagh Community Resource Group Lotto for October 20th, Jackpot not won this week. Winning numbers were 6, 14, 15, and 17. North West Hospice has produced an official 2013 calendar which is now for sale at €10 per copy. It is available to buy on the website under the shop section. It can also be purchased at the Hospice reception desk. Your support for this venture is much appreciated and is a way of raising funds for Hospice.


There will be a Table Quiz in Des McDonagh's pub on Friday, November 2nd at 9pm.

All funds raised are in aid of Kilmactranny National School. Lots of prizes and food served on the night. Please come along and support.
