THE FOOD, the scenery, the fresh air, the surfing . . . Sligo has it all.

And a group of international visitors had a chance to experience it last week during a visit to the county.

The group included journalists and tour operators from across Europe and the U.S. Among the activities they enjoyed were walking and golf. And, of course, they experienced the best of Sligo's food and hospitality, having stayed in a range of Failte Ireland approved B&Bs. Among their stop-offs was the Beach Bar in Aughris. And it appears they were particularly enamoured by the beautiful thatched pub beside the wild Atlantic seafront.

Their host, Darren McDermott said: "There is probabaly no pub in Sligo that has the views we have, with Benbulben and of course Sligo Bay."
