ASTRO TURF COMMITTEE -- Dromore West Astro Turf Committee are holding a fundraiser in the Ocean Sands Hotel, Enniscrone on November 10at 8pm.
This is a Thousandaire show (as seen on TV - Who wants to be a Millionaire) in aid of new Multi-Sport Astro Turf in Dromore West. It promises to be a great night with tough questions and great prizes on offer. Tickets @ €15 each for sale in local shops. Committee members will be calling to your homes over the next 2 weeks with tickets.
Westside Macra Club enjoyed a great night bowling in Carrick On Shannon on Saturday 20 accompanied by teams from Sligo, Leitrim and Longford. Well done to Fionnuala Kenny,James Meenaghan and Christopher Tuffy who participated in the county round of Public Speaking hosted by St Angela's College ,Sligo. The death has taken place of Delia Ann Gibson nee Feeney, Ballycummin, Easkey. Removal took place from McGowan's Funeral Home to St James's Church for funeral Mass. Burial took place in Roslea Cemetery. Sympathy is extended to her daughters Marian, Della and son Ivan in laws, grandchildren, brother, sister, relatives and friends.
Best wishes to Aidan Caffrey son of Marian and Sean Caffrey, Rathlee who has taken over the management of Halmac Hardware in Enniscrone. Best wishes also to Maura and Liam Hallinan who after seventeen years of business have retired.
Vigil Mass on Saturday evenings in Easkey /Rathlee will be at 7pm from Saturday November 3 onwards for the winter months.
The death has taken place of Anne Mc Donnell, Farrellmacfarell, Dromore West. Removal took place from her home to the Church of Our Lady of Perpetual Succour, Dromore West for funeral Mass. Burial took place in Churchill Cemetery. Sympathy is extended to her family and relatives.

There was no jackpot winner in the Easkey Community Council lotto draw on Friday night last. Numbers drawn were 3 8 29 31, bonus 1. Winners of €25 were Paddy & Mary Lavin, Robert Burns, Maggie O'Brien and Doreen Conlon. Promoter's Prize: Tony Jones. The next jackpot will be €7,800and the draw will be held at the bingo session in the Community Centre on Friday night at 8.30.
The Irish Pilgrimage Trust bring young people with special needs 99-30 years of age to Lourdes each Easter as part of their pilgrimage. There is no cost for the young people to travel. Application forms are available from 086 1579903.
Sounding Board music technology programme will hold a workshop on Friday November 2in Colaiste Iascaigh. The workshop will cost €5for the day for 12-18 year olds and will run from 11am to 4pm. The workshop is a great chance for young people to develop their DJ performance, sample music, record and perform their music, learn how to play or improve guitar skills or make an animated film. An Auction to raise Funds for Easkey Caravan Park will be held in Easkey Community Centre on Sunday November 25 at 3pm.Items for auction which you may wish to donate will be gratefully accepted and collected if necessary. Household furniture, office furniture, kitchen utensils will all be accepted if in good condition. Hopefully you will be in a position to support it. Enquiries to 096-49020.
Beltra I.C.A. has issued its Christmas Shoe Box appeal for needy children in different parts of the world which for most is the only gift they will receive. Leaflets explaining details of what can be put in the boxes are available from any member or at the country market. Boxes need to be ready by early November.

Scór na nÓg competitions will be taking place again shortly, and this is a great opportunity for the youth (under 17 on January 1 , 2013) to take part in the areas of Solo Singing, Recitation, Ballad Group, Quiz, Instrumental Music, Novelty Act, Figure Dancing, Set Dancing. Anyone interested in taking part should contact the Cultural Officer in their club.
