There will be a four course meal and entertainment on the night. The tickets are priced at €25 per person. U12S PLAY CROKER

Best of luck to the Drumcliffe Rosses Point U12 boys Gaelic team who travel to Croke Park this Wednesday to play 3 matches as one of four clubs representing Sligo in a 'Go Game's blitz involving teams from all over the country.

FESTIVAL LAUNCH

You are warmly invited to the launch if this tear's Cos Cos Sean Nós Festival on Wednesday April 23rd in the Radisson hotel at 6:30pm. This festival itself takes place in Rathcormac from May 7th to 11th, with details on www.coscos.ie.

CARNEY 10K

The annual Carney Lissadell 10k run and walk is all set to take place on Easter Monday April 21st. Online entries are now open through www.oxfield.ie or www.runireland.com. Registrations in person will be taken the evening before (7 to 9pm), or on the morning of race from 9:30am, at Oxfield. The 10k walk starts at 11:30am, while the 10k runner are off at 12 noon.

All proceeds will go towards the Acquired Brain Injury Unit at Sligo Regional Hospital and the Oxfield Community Centre. Don't forget that kids of all ages are invited to take part in the fun races beforehand in Oxfield, at 11am.

Intending participants should please note that part of the 10k route runs through private property at Lissadell (i.e. from beyond the Alpine Gardens), therefore this part of the route is not accessible to the public before race day for any reason.

DRUMCLIFFE MUSIC

Tickets are now on sale for this year's 'Music in Drumcliffe' chamber music festival which takes place from May 2nd to 5th at Drumcliffe Church. See www.musicindrumcliffe.ie for more details.

GOOSE FEATHERS

Goose feathers are wanted for the Colmcille Calligraphy Workshops which take place in Rathcormac at the end of May. If you know anyone who might be able to supply a small quantity, please contact Brenda on 086 1925988.

EVERY CENT COUNTS

Put all that loose change to good use and donate to the "Every Cent Counts" appeal being organised by the Carney Ladies Mini Marathon Team. EVENING WALKERS

Please note that due to the time change and the longer evenings, the floodlights at Oxfield are being given a well-deserved break and have returned to club timetable duty. Therefore they will no longer be on late in the evenings for the summer.

For anyone who wishes to pay their contribution towards the 'Run Walk Jog' evening floodlighting for the last 6 months, please contact either Brian McBride or Michael Kilcoyne.

COFFEE MORNING/BOOK SALE

A coffee day and book sale will be held in Maugherow Hall on Easter Sunday, 20th April from 12noon until 4pm in aid of Inis Aoibhinn. Inis Aoibhinn provides home from home accomodation for cancer patients receiving radiotherapy at Galway Hospital. Donations can be handed into Maugherow Hall from 7pm until 8pm on Saturday evening or from 11.30am on Sunday 20th. All support is greatly appreciated.

HALL HIRE

Our Centre is available for room and hall hire at very competitive rates, and we offer excellent facilities for sports, meetings, parties and social events, including our sports hall, changing rooms with showers etc. Our hall is very popular for sports events, and also for children's parties as it can accommodate a bouncy castle. Do pop in to have a look, or call the Centre on 914 6512.

CENTRE ACTIVITIES

Merville Community Centre hosts a wide range of indoor activities. Circuit Training Sessions on Mondays, Wednesdays and Saturday Mornings. Piloxing Classes, which combines Pilates and boxing continue Tuesdays at 7pm. Children's and Adult Kung Fu Classes Each Friday from 6pm. CHARITY FUNDRAISER

Bokwa Classes continue on Tuesdays from 8pm and on Thursdays from 7:30pm at Merville. 50 cent is being donated by the Class Leader, Eithne Cromey, from each client fee to Childline ISPCC for all classes until April 17. Get Fit, Have Fun and Support a Great Cause!

VILLAGE CLEAN UP

Tidy Towns has informed me that the Clean Up of the village and surroundings on Sunday 6th April was a magnificent success. Organised by Shane Flanagan and friends, the turn out was marvellous. Parents and children ,armed with "high vis" jackets, gloves, bags & refuse lifters ,cleaned the village and shoreline of rubbish and debris left by recent storms and of course by unthinking people who continue to simply dump their unwanted bottles, wrappers etc. wherever they feel like it.

CLEAN COAST WEEK

Clean Coast week takes place in May. Details to follow. This will be an opportunity for those that missed the "Clean Up" to participate in keeping the beach free of litter. See www.cleancoast.org for information on Clean Coast programme and details of a photography competition. Rosses Point has registered for the clean on Sat. May 10th.

Local Surfer Gearóid McDaid came 20th overall out of 300 competitors in the ISA World Junior Championships in Ecuador - well Done and best of luck to Gearóid

PLAYERS ON NATIONAL STAGE

Congratulations to Strand Celtic players Oisin Conway and Mark mcCallion who won the all Ireland senior soccer championship with Summerhill College this past week.

VILLAGE CLEAN UP

There was a great turnout for the village clean up last Saturday and thanks to all involved. Complimentary ice-creams to participants were provided by newly refurbished 'Mammy Johnstons'.

MOBILE LIBRARY

The County Council Mobile Library is in Strandhill every afternoon on the Third Thursday of every month positioned outside St Patricks church, Strandhill. All you need is to be a member of the county Library and you can rent anything you like... and await the return of the Mobile Library the month after.

EASTER KIDS CAMP

Easter Kids Camp takes place from the 14th to 18th April - it takes place in Fitness 4 all from 9.30am to 2.30pm each day. Call 087 9104713 for details.

DONAL PARSONS 5K RUN

A 5k run to raise much need funds for the Donal Parsons campaign takes place on Sunday 27th April. It is €20 for the run or €15 if you want to just have a walk or a fun run. There will also be a bouncy castle, free t-shirts for competitors and refreshments served. Registration is from 11am on the day at Fitness 4 All in Strandhill business park.
