Gary Anderson, a third year student in Corran College, has made the final panel for the U15 International soccer squad. Gary was one of a large number of hopefuls who attended international trials in Dublin over a period.
Gary has experienced success with his club Ballisadare United at underage level, winning Sligo/Leitrim titles at both U12 and U14 levels and has been a member of the Sligo/Leitrim elite development squad for the past three years.
Well done Gary and wear the jersey with pride!
Colaiste Mhuire invited our students to the matinee of their musical 'The Little Shop of Horrors' recently. We thoroughly enjoyed the performance.
Thanks to Brenda Cawley, the librarian in Ballymote library, for organising a book club as a joint venture between Corran College and Colaiste Mhuire. This ground breaking initiative promotes reading skills, oral literacy and above all friendship.
The Principal invited Bishop Kelly, the Bishop of Achonry, to Corran College for a Pastoral visit, on November 6th.
Our first year students had a demanding day in Strandhill recently. It is hoped that this taster session will encourage students to get involved in the exciting sport of surfing or body boarding.
The Parent's Association are making plans for their forthcoming fundraiser for Tanzania called For One Night Only. This is taking place in the Art Deco, Ballymote on Wednesday 14th November. Anthony Kilcoyne of Salon 2 in Sligo and a host of local businesses volunteered their services for what should be an entertaining evening.
