Computer skills a click away

Taking part in the Ballymote Information Technology Programme in the Enterprise Centre were: Doddy Jordan, Pat Kielty and Fionnula Scanlon.

WHEN IT comes to locals, employers and State agencies working together to educate people in computer use, Ballymote is showing the way.

At the Enterprise Centre, 14 people aged from about 17 to over 60, are taking part in a 26-week course. Fiona Dunleavy is the tutor. The participants come from Ballymote and surrounding area.

At the end of the course, they will receive a FETAC Level 3 Major Award in working with computers.

The course is funded by FAS and sponsored by Ballymote Community Enterprise.

Meanwhile, at Ballymote Library, nine people are doing a FETAC Level 7 computer FAS course, with instructors from Compupac.
