BOYLE GOES PINK
A number of Boyle Business' are coming together to raise awareness on the importance of Women's Health and Wellbeing. A fundraiser event will take place on Thursday 1st November at King House, Boyle and subsequent talks and demos will take place throughout the town on Friday November 2nd and Saturday November 3rd. This event coincides with the Get the Girls Pink Ribbon Campaign, and funds raised will be donated to the Irish Cancer Society. The 2012 Ireland's Charity Hero Award is now open for nominations. Ireland's Charity Hero Award which could win you €1,000 cash to donate to your favourite cause celebrates an individual who has made an extraordinary contribution to a good cause in a voluntary capacity. Do you know somebody extraordinary, who volunteers selflessly for a local good cause, and who always strives to go that extra mile to help other people out? The annual G.R.A.C.E Christmas Day Party will not go ahead this year Unless some individuals can find time to get involved with the organising committee. Emigration has taken its toll and some of those who assisted with this praiseworthy, highly enjoyable event in previous years will not be in Boyle in the lead-up to Christmas. Screen Time ShinAwil are currently looking for people aged 18 and over to enter their business ideas for consideration and have started production for the 5th series of Dragon's Den. The series will transmit from the 3rd March 2013 on RTE One at 21.30. RUN WALK N ROLL
Over 250 came out in the glorious sunshine to take part in the 18th run for cancer research in Boyle on Sunday October 21st. Athletes and families of all ages went on the 5.28km route running, walking and cycling and afterwards all came to St.Joseph's Hall where they availed of information from two Irish Cancer Society volunteers on cancer awareness and also some well deserved refreshments. To date €3,500 has been raised with more money to come in.
Thank you to all participants, staff of Plunkett Home, Grange Bed Push, St.Joseph's Boys NS, Abbey Community College PLC, stewards, Order of Malta, registration ladies, tea ladies, Dj Richie, McKenna's bus hire and driver and to all the businesses who donated refreshments: Gala, Supervalu, Londis, Centra and Abbeytown Xpress stop.

Pilates is a form of exercise based on core strength. Core strength is when the deep internal muscles of the abdomen and back work together to strengthen the body and support the spine. Boyle Badminton Club is now open again for the season in Boyle Sports Complex. Club nights are Mondays from 9.30 to 11.30pm and Thursdays from 9pm to 11pm. The club would love to see some new members giving badminton a try and whether a beginner or someone who hasn't played for a while will be welcomed to the club.
