Booklet 'will increase awareness of mental health services in Sligo

A new mental health services booklet will help 'raise awareness' of the services offered by the Sligo Leitrim Mental Health Services.

That's according to Tomas Murphy, Area Director of Nursing for SLMHS. The leaflet and booklet were launched last week and contain details of locations, access times and the array of interventions which Sligo/Leitrim Mental Health Services provide to members of the public.

It also lists contact details for a number of voluntary and community organisations that provide mental health supports to the community of Sligo/Leitrim.

Speaking at the launch Tomas Murphy, said: "I am delighted to officially launch this patient information leaflet and booklet.

"We have produced this information to increase the public's awareness of our services and its locations.

"This booklet will help to inform people about our services and the interventions we provide."

He added: "We continue to emphasise the developments and good work of our community mental health services through the on-going strengthening of teams and continuous training of the professionals who work within teams.

"To date this has proved very successful, with increased patient satisfaction levels and evidence of better patient outcomes for the people and populations which we serve'.

The Sligo Leitrim Mental Health Services Patient Information Leaflet & Booklet can be found in the following locations: 1) Manorhamilton Mental Health Primary Care Centre, 2) Community Mental Health Team Base, Markievicz House, Barrack St, Sligo, 3) 'The Rock' Community Mental Health Team Base, Ballymote, 4) Summerhill Lodge, Community Mental Health Team Base, Carrick On Shannon.
