OLD PHOTOGRAPHS -- Ballymote Business Association is organising a photographic exhibition as part of The Gathering 2013 festival, which will take place in March.

Ballymote Tidy Towns Committee recently produced a booklet on "Local Heritage and Tourism in Ballymote". Copies of the booklet can be purchased from the Enterprise Centre, price €4.

GAA CLUB AGM
The AGM of Ballymote GAA Club will take place on Saturday January 19th at 9pm in the Pastoral Centre. Anyone wishing to get involved especially parents of underage children welcome.
There was no winner of the Ballymote Lotto Jackpot on January 5th. There were three prizes of €50, €30 and €20 drawn; the names of the winners are on display in local shops. The jackpot now stands at €8,200 the next draw will take place in Gormleys Corner House on January 19th. Community Lotto supports GAA, Soccer, Handball, Loftus Hall, Football Pitches and local worthy causes. Tickets are €2. Thank you for your continued support.

Ballymote and District Angling Club will hold it's AGM on Friday January 18th at 8.30pm in the Pastoral Centre Ballymote. All members are asked to attend all trophies won in 2012 will be presented on the evening. New Members welcome.
The 1980 BBC Nationwide programme featuring Ballymote GAA Club's fundraising Baronial Election is now available on YouTube. Just type in 'Baron of Ballymote' into YouTube and it will be one of the first results to appear. The video of the programme was preserved by Alfie Banks. Richard Molloy Sr & Jr. converted to it to DVD and distributed a number of them. Olly and Colm Farry put the item on YouTube. The campaign raised £8,200 for the development of the dressing rooms in Corran.

Parent & Toddler Group: The group meet on Wednesday mornings from 10.30am. Guest speakers on topics of interest in childcare are held from time to time.
We promote further education through FTEAC accredited modules. They include Self Advocacy, Health & Welfare, Computer Literacy, Communications, Basic Cookery and many more. The Family Resource Centre is an accredited FETAC Centre.
Courses for the Winter/Spring 2013: How to look good on a budget, Crafts, knitting, crochet, Computer Literacy, Back to Education, Basic Health. These courses will run as soon as enough interest is shown. Fitness through Tai Chi, Yoga and Pilates are all currently running at Ballymote FRC. Contact the Centre for a full list of courses and programmes; spaces are limited on some programmes.
MABS operate an outreach service on the 1st Thursday of each month from 10am to 4pm by appointment only. The next outreach will take place on 7th February 2013.
The Sligo Citizen's Information Centre: The CIC conducts its weekly outreach service at Ballymote Family Resource Centre on Wednesday afternoons between 2.15pm and 4.45pm. This is a confidential, free service access to which is by appointment only. The CIC provide impartial information, advice and advocacy to the public on social services, rights and entitlements. Weight-Watchers sessions take place each Monday evening at 8.00pm at the Centre.
