Congratulations to Gary Feeney, Neil Ewing and Paul Logan who received their Sligo Champion/Sligo GAA Intermediate Club All Stars Awards at the annual GAA banquet in the Radisson Hotel last weekend.
There is one more Jaws Harp workshop by the one and only Rick Epping. It takes place in the Old School in Rathcormac on Wednesday November 28th from 2 to 3pm. This event is part of the Bealtaine Intergenerational Project. For more details contact 086 1925988.
The second North Sligo wildlife talk presented by Will Woodrow, an expert in wildlife and environmental projects, takes place this Thursday November 29th at 7.30pm in Rathcormac hall.
The talk is open to the general public and is free of charge. Congrats to the Rathcormac Village Tidy Towns group for organising and to the Sligo County Heritage Office for supporting the programme.
WALK OR JOG
Beat the dark evenings and get out for a walk or jog under the floodlights at Oxfield Community Park, every Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 8:30pm to 10pm. All weather track, safe and secure. All welcome!
The final draw of the Oxfield Community Centre 500 Club takes place this Friday November 30th in the Yeats Tavern, where someone will win the top prize of €10,000! There will also be bonus draw prizes and spot prizes on the night. All welcome!
The annual Oxfield Table Quiz takes place in the Yeats Tavern this Friday night, November 30th. This is one of the most enjoyable quiz nights of the year, so why not round up a table of four and put the heads together for a good night out with the neighbours. Entry €20 per table of four.
CAR BOOT SALE
The Rathcormac National School Parents' Association is running a car boot sale this coming Sunday December 2nd in the school yard from 11am to 1pm. Browsers and buyers welcome! For details contact Michelle on 087 9692502. All proceeds go to the PA in their efforts to support the school.
The Annual Drumcliffe, Lissadell and Munninane bazaar is being held in Maugherow Hall (note new venue this year due to renovations at Lissadell) on Friday 30th November starting at 8pm. It will have all the usual stalls, teas, raffles, lucky dip, door prize, Santa etc. All welcome!
ALTERNATIVE XMAS MENU
The Drumcliffe Development Association are holding a social night of fun and laughter for one and all - 'The Ultimate Alternative Xmas Menu' - demonstrated by TV3 Celebrity Chef Joe Shannon and local Chef Ian Flanagan. It will take place in the Yeats Tavern on Thursday December 6th starting at 9pm.
There will be a complimentary Recipe Booklet for everyone on the night, and the cooking demo will be followed by live music and dance, a bumper raffle with spot prizes galore. All proceeds will go towards the Drumcliffe Development Association.
Kids basketball coaching continues with the North Sligo Basketball Club every Sunday at the Oxfield Community Centre. Boys and girls 6 to 8 from 2-3pm; Boys 8 to 12 from 3-4pm; Girls 8 to 12 from 45pm. All welcome.
The Oxfield Santa Wonderland event will take place on Sunday December 9th from 2:30pm to 6:30pm. It's a great family event organised by the local community, and one not to be missed.
XMAS DAY SWIM
Sponsorship cards for the 2012 Lissadell Christmas Day swim are now available from Ian Flannagan on 087 6220116. This year proceeds from the event will go towards the Holy Family Day Centre in Ballytivnan for preschool children with special needs, and St. Joseph's School.
