Gallery: Girls go crazy for meeting with Peter
PETER ANDRE visited Sligo on Friday afternoon to meet fans in Quayside.
Around 200 teens, tweens and slightly older ladies crowded to meet the Australian singer.
He was launching his latest perfumes, Forever and Forever Young, which are on sale in Cara Pharmacy.
The tanned tv star was mobbed by fans hoping to grab an autograph.
Peter said to The Sligo Champion: "This is my first time to Sligo. I've been to Cork, Belfast and Dublin before, but I thought it was important to get away from the bigger cities.
"The perfume seems to be quite popular, which is great."
He was joined by a rather large entourage of bodyguards and tv crew filming for his hit reality show, My Life.
He added: "The tv show has been going really well. This is going to be the last season as I will take a break for awhile."
He added that he was 'very much' looking forward to the birth of his child with partner Emily early next year.
Fans travelled from various locations to meet the 90s pin-up. Ursula Rice came from Omagh especially to see Mr. Andre.
She said: "I saw him in Donegal this morning too, then we came to Sligo.
"He's fab! We even got t-shirts made for this." Ursula was joined by sister-in-law Ann Rice.
She joked: "I wasn't dragged to this, I came very willingly!"
Bridget McGinley (11) couldn't contain her excitement. She said: "I've been a big fan of his since I was five. I love his song Mysterious Girl.
"I bought his perfume, I think it's nice. I can't wait to meet him."
Nancy McGinley (22) added: "I remember him from back in the 1990s when I was a child. And he's still as fit!"
Sisters Kwistan and Zhiayn Karimi from Iran, living in Sligo, were equally excited.
Kwistan said: "I have been a fan of Peter's for a long time. I love his tv show, I couldn't believe he was coming to Sligo!"
Andre told his Twitter followers about his trip.
He said: "I'm in Donegal today and on my way to Sligo this arvo. Love you Ireland."
