This week, we visit The Style Emporium on Grattan Street in Sligo. It has been 30 years since owner Dympna Mannion first opened its doors.
She said: "We'll be celebrating our 30th anniversary in November. My husband, Aidan, runs the Record Room next door; both of the buildings used The Old Grovener House Hotel.
"I work here on my own; I always try to do stuff that is different, there's no point in copying other stores, I like to stock individual brands to Sligo."
She said that she pays attention to many of the young Irish designers.
"I have Caroline Kilkenny, she is a fabulous designer from Dublin.
"Sabina Higgins wore her at the recent state visit to Buckingham Palace. Her outfits are beautiful."
The Style Emporium is the only place in Sligo stocking her clothes.
"My whole ethos is that the customer is king. I try and make sure that when a woman leaves my shop, she will be asked where did she buy her outfit."
Dympna explained that dresses are very big currently.
Brands include Laura Bernal, a beautiful Spanish label, with dresses that are figure hugging. Colours that are in are corals, dusky pinks as well as florals.
"I team these with nice accessories and fascinators, that I have in store.
"Cut off trousers are lovely for this time of year, and I also have a range of light weight jackets and cardigans.
"Cut offs are ideal for women who want a more casual look, or for comfort if going on holidays."
Outfit one is by Laura Bernal, €220.
This is a beautiful dusty pink dress, with lovely lace detail at the back. It can be teamed with nude shoes and a dusty pink hat. The hat used in the picture is €110, with a neckpiece, €22.
"This is perfect for a summer wedding, or indeed a trip to the races."
Outfit two is by Irish designer Caroline Kilkenny. The elegant coat is €390, with the figure hugging dress, €240.
"It comes alive when it is on the body, another thing I always say is never judge anything on a hanger."
The matching black fascinator is €75.
Outfit three is reasonably priced and yet ideal for a summer wedding or outdoor event.
The dress, in eye catching colour, is €100, teamed with a little bolero jacket, €75.
"This dress could be worn with cerise shoes or nude shoes, which are fantastic as they go with so many things," Dympna said.
