THREE generations of the Fallon family gathered at St. Columba's Church, Rosses Point, on Sunday for a poignant Christening ceremony.
Baby Sean, the grandson of Sligo's legendary soccer icon, the late Sean Fallon, was Christened by Monsg. Gerard Dolan.
Proud parents, Sinead and Paul Shevlin, and over twenty members of the Fallon family travelled from Scotland for the ceremony.
The Godparents were Sinead's sister, Siobhan Connolly and her son, Sean.
The family chose Rosses Point for the Christening as the village was one of the late Sean's favourite places in Sligo. His son, Sean junior, said it meant a lot to the family to have baby Sean Christened in Rosses Point.
He explained: "Dad and Mum brought us to Rosses Point for our summer holidays every year.
"So it's lovely to have Sinead and Paul's youngest son Christened here. It means a lot to the family."
It was an emotional end to a special week-end for the family.
They were guests of honour at a civic reception in County Hall on Saturday where a new book on the life and times of Sean Fallon was officially launched.
