'Team Kian' celebrates Jungle victory
THE newly crowned King of the Jungle looks set to have a Strandhill homecoming if his television scheduling allows.
A friend of the former Westlife singer said that there is a strong possibility of a homecoming happening.
"It all depends on whether Kian has to go directly back into filming for The Voice or not. We have to speak to him about it and see what his plans are.
"If he has time off because of winning the show, it is likely to happen," the friend said.
There were great celebrations in his home village of Strandhill after he was declared winner of the hit ITV show on Sunday night. Groups of 'Team Kian' supporters gathered in local bars to see Kian become the first ever Irish person to win the UK show.
There were scenes of celebrations after the 33-year-old beat fashion designer David Emanuel in the final.
"He has really done Sligo proud," one fan said.
Kian described his time in the jungle as 'best three weeks of my life'. Kian said: "I don't know what to say. It's been such a team effort. Everybody in here is a king and queen." He added that getting to the final was 'way beyond my expectations'.
Wife Jodi was there to emotionally greet her husband as he left the jungle.
Kian received praise throughout his appearance on the show for his cooking skills and success in the Bushtucker trials.
Former bandmate Shane Filan said on his Twitter page: "Huge congrats to Kian...King of the Jungle!!! Well done buddy."
Mark Feehily said: "You Beauty! Kian Egan is king :)"
Nicky Byrne also send his congratulations. He said: "Good lad, Kian. Smashing stuff! Congrats from all the Byrnes x."
Fellow The Voice judge Bressie was also wishing Kian well, joking that if he could survive a dressing room with Bressie, the jungle was a doddle.
