THE sun shone at the weekend as Rosses Point celebrated its Sea Shanty Festival.
The festivals celebrated Sligo's maritime heritage while it also promoted the work of the RNLI which has a lifeboat station in the village.
The festival was launched on Friday by Captain Paul Devaney at Sligo Yacht Club.
The festival had many events organised throughout from planned concerts to shanty sessions and a number of water based activities. Festivities culminated in a fancy dress day on Sunday where everyone dressed up as a pirate and competed for the hotly contested Maugherow Cup.
