Exhibition on the life and times of Sligo's Bourke Cockran

There will be an exhibition running about the life and story of William Bourke Cockran, Sligo's forgotten statesman. In his lifetime Bourke Cockran was one of the most famous and respected people in the world.

Without this great Sligoman, the world we live in today would be a very different place. It will be taking place from the 5th to the 26th of May on Quay Street Sligo from 11am to 4.30pm Monday to Friday.

Havin a laugh Adventure Festival - Thrill to Chill

The Annual Rennafix Flagship Event consists of three days of adventure in Sligo. Take in the great outdoors, live music, entertainment, health food, camping and more. Rennafix Group in Sligo have created the Havin' a Laugh Festival to promote well-being and positive mental health in Sligo. Running from the 26-28 of May.

Exhibition, Music and Afternoon Tea

As part of the Bealtaine Events Sligo 2017 why not come join the residents of St Johns community hospital Sligo for afternoon tea, music and view their mixed media artwork exhibition. All are welcome.

Volunteering Expo

Volunteering is a valuable way for people to network and gain experience to enhance career prospects. For one day only on Tuesday the 16th of May, the Sligo Volunteer Centre is hosting the Headstart Expo filled with practical workshops, speakers and stands from local voluntary groups. This event is free so RSVP to book your spot! Workshops (Register online as spaces are limited). The event will take place from 11.00am-4.00pm.

Lanterns of Hope Music Festival

Sligo's first ever 'Lanterns of Hope Music Festival' in aid of STOP suicide will take place on June 16th. This a free event. Come along with your friends and family, join in for some local music followed by the releasing of Eco-Friendly Sky lanterns. We have an exciting line up of artists but all will be revealed in the upcoming weeks! Stay tuned to the Facebook page 'Stop Suicide' for further updates on the event and to find out more about our charity.

Featherheads and Dreamers

Following on from its success in 2016, Featherheads and Dreamers returns this May 20th in the Model Sligo with a line-up of contemporary voices; authors, poets, performers, musicians, and visual artists, that reflect the modern Irish cultural landscape. This year's event includes author Kevin Barry; actor, writer and activist Donal O'Kelly; and Sligo band The Hunter. Curated by Patrick Karl Curley.
