A boost for Holy Family at concert
THE children of Holy Family NS are getting an early Christmas present.
The parents' association hosts the second annual festive choral evening on Thursday.
The event at 7.30pm in St John Evangelist Church will raise funds for further school development.
Last year, a new playground was installed.
Parents' association chairwoman Maria Flynn said: "We got a lot of positive feedback from the 2012 event. It helped provide the playground. We decided we would have another choral evening this year as our major fundraiser.
"We will see what requirements the school has and help in any way we can."
The evening will feature performances from many talented local acts.
They include Declan Folan, a parents' association member, Junior Davey, Harry McGowan and father and daughter duo Ignatius and Cliona Henry.
Also taking part are Seamie O'Dowd and the Tone Cold Sober Male Barbershop Choir from Strandhill.
Tickets are €10 and are available from Barry's and Brett's pharmacies, Gillespie's, Margaret Kennedy's and any member of the parents' association.
There will be a complimentary raffle and refreshments afterwards in the school.
