Shamrock Rovers put on super show

SHAMROCK ROVERS put on quite a show on Sunday last as they edged ever closer to Premier Division glory.

They showed no sympathy to relegation-troubled Bunclody as they lashed seven goals past the ninth-placed side in their own back yard.

Should they pick up a win from their game in hand, Rovers would then hold a five-point lead over North End United with just 15 points left to play for.

Rovers certainly won't have it easy though, and United ensured they kept the league leaders on their toes thanks to a 3-0 victory over Campile United.

For a while, Campile had looked like potential dark horses but they came undone at Hollygrove as Kyle Dempsey struck twice, with Jason Murphy also hitting the back of the net.

Campile will look to bounce back from this defeat when they take on Rovers in Wexford Cup action this weekend. North End are also on Wexford Cup duty, as New Ross Celtic B stand between them and a place in the fifth round.
