Dylan picked for Irish universities team

FORMER Campile United player Dylan Mernagh has been selected to represent Ireland in the men's football in the 2013 World University Games being held in Kazan, Russia.
The 22-year-old, pictured, is one of two students from WIT who were selected for the team, which includes students from both Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland. The games began on Friday, July 5, run until July 17 and feature 12,000 athletes representing their countries in 16 sports. Ireland are drawn in the group along with China, Mexico and currently holders China.
Dylan is a first team member and in the build-up to the tournament Ireland played warm up games against Wales, Scotland, Northern Ireland and Ireland under-19s, as well as various League of Ireland premier league clubs.
Dylan currently playingwith Waterford United in the Eircom League First Division since playing for Campile.
'It's a massive honour to get this opportunity to represent Ireland at such a level,' said Dylan. 'I'd like to thank everyone who supported me in any way towards the fundraising events for my trip. I hope the team can make everyone's efforts worthwhile.'
