Celtic and United put on exhibition
GOREY CELTIC and Curracloe United battled it out tooth and nail on Sunday in what turned out to be an absolute goal-feast in Noel Kehoe Pitch Development Division 1.
The duo shared ten goals between them as they slugged it out in a remarkable 5-5 draw. A win for United would have propelled them to third and within one point of leaders Park Hotspur but, despite the best efforts of Killian Connor and Eoin Kinsella, the best that they could manage was a point. Connor registered a hat-trick against Celtic with Kinsella striking twice. Sunday's point for Gorey Celtic has proved helpful for them though as it moved them a point further away from troubled All Blacks who edged closer to life in Division 2 after suffering a 4-1 defeat against Rosslare Rangers in Rosslare Harbour. That failure has left them with just six games left to save their season and, with a gap of nine points between themselves and next-in-line Wexford Celtic, the Casey Park side will have to start putting some points on the board sooner rather than later.
