ENNISCORTHY LADIES

The ladies' Tuesday competition last week fell victim to the wintery conditions as the course had to close following heavy rainfall. A Christmas ladies' singles ompetition of 15 holes stableford has begun this week and will continue over the next few weeks.

Ladies may play whenever they have the opportunity. The competition open to five-day members (Monday to Friday). Prizes will be awarded after every 30 entries. Ladies may enter the competition as often as they wish. The nine holes competition also continues over the winter months.

The annual club dinner will be held in the clubhouse on Saturday, December 1, with what promises to be an excellent night of food, wine and dancing, all for €25. Tickets are available at the club. The club dinner is not exclusively a 'couples' event and a great night is guaranteed for all. Not to be missed ladies!

December 14 is an important date in the club's calendar as the proposed revised constitution will be up for adoption at an Extraordinary General Meeting taking place at 7.30 p.m. Members are encouraged to download a copy of the constitution before the E.G.M. Copies are also available, on request, from the office.

The E.G.M. will be followed by a seasonal performance from our club choir with resident musician, Jim, in attendance to provide further entertainment! A taxi service will be on stand-by!

Results of nine holes competition number 15: 1, Deirdre Doyle, 20 points (back six); 2, Cora Mernagh, 20 points; 3, Kathleen Walsh, 20 points.

We extend our sincere sympathies to Paula Creedon, Bridie Kelly and Rita Riordan in their recent bereavements.

NEW ROSS LADIES

Now that our new committee are in office since our well-attended A.G.M. on November 15 and are finding their feet, we would like to wish Ann Conway, lady President, and Ger Donohoe, lady Captain, and their committee the very best for their busy year ahead, and to thank last year's committee for a great year's golf.

November 21, 14-hole stableford competition: 1, Anne Breen (15), 29 point; 2, Marie Therese Wall (28), 28 points (last seven); 3, Brede Kelly (28), 28 points.

At present, there is an ongoing nine-hole competition running, where you can enter as often as you like (in the nine-hole book).

There will be a 14-hole Christmas hamper competition on Wednesday, November 28, December 5 and December 12. The usual timesheet and draw times will be in operation. So, good luck to everyone and just hit the ball as little as possible.

Just a reminder that we will have our ladies' Christmas party day on December 19. See you there.

TEMPLARS SOCIETY

The A.G.M. of Templars Golf Society will take place on Friday, November 30, in Molloy's Bar at 9 p.m. New members are welcome.

COOLLATTIN

Last Sunday's Christmas competition was won by Noel Byrne (15), Luke Byrne (16), Paul Tyrell (16) and James Harte (12) with a score of 70 points. Well done to Paul Tyrell who had hole-in-one on the 16th hole.

His playing partner and fellow Tinahely man, James Harte, had a birdie on the same hole. The nine points gained here certainly smartened up their card. Runners-up with 67 points were J.J. Doyle (9), David Orr (9), Tony Moran (21) and Tom Hassett (25). Third place went to Martin Kirwan (14), Dave Coates (18), Aidan Travers (23) and Shane Byrne (16) who combined for a score of 63 points.

Friday's Disciples have their second outing on Friday of this week. On this occasion it is a 13-hole team event. The competition is open to all and the entry fee is €5 for members and €10 for visitors. The first outing for this illustrious group takes place to Macreddin on December 14. Our January outing will take place to Killerig.

Anybody thinking of buying a Christmas gift for a golfing friend could do worse than buy a Coollattin voucher. These vouchers can be redeemed in the pro shop, in the bar, in the restaurant, for green fees or towards a 2013 membership sub. They are on sale in the bar and in the pro shop and are available in any multiple of €10.

RATHASPECK LADIES

Our A.G.M. was held in Rathaspeck on September 11, followed by a barbeque in the grounds of Rathaspeck Manor which was very well supported. Our thanks go to Michael and Betty Cuddihy for all their help that made the day a great success.

At the A.G.M., Alma Roche was re-elected as lady Captain for the third year running. Also re-elected were Anne O'Reilly (Secretary), Ann Connolly (Handicap Secretary) and our new Treasurer, Bríd O'Brien.

We had our mid-week outing to Faithlegg Golf and Leisure Club on October 24 and 25. It was a very relaxing outing except for the competitiveness of the golf but a very enjoyable break. We have twothirds of our Christmas competition completed which took place in Rathaspeck, and the last shootout is on December 1.

Our Christmas party will be held on December 7 in the Stanville Lodge Hotel. The presentation and prizegiving will be hosted by our lady Captain, Alma Roche.

We play every Tuesday in Rathaspeck. Tee-off time is 10 a.m. and visitors and new members are welcome. Contact Alma Roche (087-2233711), Anne O'Reilly (087-7623646) or Ann Connelly (0876631683).
