AFTER THE last couple of wet weekends, we finally saw a fine day for a turkey Sunday.
The tournament was held in McCrea's of Carnew.
Semi-finals: Michael Redmond (Woodsmen) and Pat Jordan (McCrea's) beat Maurice Molloy (The Gap) and Peter Molloy (McCrea's), 21-15; Denis Larkin Snr. (Monart) and Gavin Collier (Doran's Bridge) beat Joe Somers (Monageer) and Kevin Jordan (McCrea's), 21-10.
Final: Michael Redmond and Pat Jordan beat Denis Larkin Snr. and Gavin Collier, 21-17.
This is Michael Redmond's second successive win, and Denis Larkin's second successive runners-up spot.
With the limit of two turkeys per player, that will have to do him for Christmas!
Next week's turkey tournament will be in the league field in Ferns, with two more weeks left!
The end of year social was held on Saturday last, with a disappointing turn-out.
The person of the year award was given to Michael McLoughlin from Donegal. Thanks to O'Loughlin's for the venue and food, as well as the music provided.
The Co. Wexford A.G.M. will be held on Sunday, December 2, at 2 p.m. in Ferns and all delegates are reminded to attend.
