Minor footballers have been to hell and back

AFTER A gruelling 10 km, the Wexford Minor footballers and mentors completed the tortuous 'Hell and Back Challenge' recently.
The huge effort put in by all the participants is to be highly commended. All of this was to raise vital funds for three suicide prevention and mental awareness charities, namely Pieta House, Console and Wexford Marine Watch.
You can still donate to these great causes on the online charity donation page: http://www.mycharity.ie/event/wexfordminors/. You can also donate to any of the players or mentors, or should you wish to donate by other means, please e-mail firstname.lastname@example.org.
The players and management would like to thank the sponsors who made contributions to the fund which helped greatly, including: Leisure Max; Club Suppliers (who sponsored individually initialled beany hats with the Wexford crest for all members of the squad); Wexford Suspension Training (Jason Kehoe, who took the squad through their paces in preparation for the event); Yellowbelly; Dublin branch of the Wexford Supporters' Club.
Wexford County Board donated the proceeds of all sales of the Coiste na nOg calendar produced by P.J. Howlin, while Coiste Chairman Bobby Goff and the rest of the committee gave full support in helping to make this event happen.
G.A.A. clubs around the county helped to facilitate the attendance of players while the Wexford referees kindly donated to the fund. Dunnes Stores also invited us in to provide a bag-packing service for two days which generated a great amount of money.
Hell and Back put on a great event and ensured it all ran smoothly. They were very accommodating of our needs with such a large group, and a great day was had by all despite the trying challenges.
Despite the cold and wet conditions, and the devilish challenges and obstacles, it was a great day out, where teamwork and support was the over-riding theme. Everyone was there to support each other, and help their team-mates and other competitors.
And it's this message we want to carry through on the field and off it, which is the main reason we are fundraising for these three charities. We are all there to support each other, and these three charities are also there for us all when in need of more support. So again, if you can give anything, please donate to these worthy causes.
