Barry McWilliams (Horeswood) is one of the form players in the county and he powered past Malachy Whelan from Castlebridge 21-3, 21-5 in the Wexford Farmers' Co-Op 40 x 20 Intermediate singles.

Justin Heffernan came through a titanic game in the Junior singles after losing the opening set 21-8 to Robert Byrne from Bridgetown, battling through 21-20, 21-20.

Kevin Doyle advanced to the next round of the Junior 'C' singles as he beat Phil Coleman from Ballymitty 21-15, 21-17.

P.J. Martin from Bridgetown was too strong for Tom Byrne from Kilmyshall, beating him 21-16, 21-6. Tom Cummins is the second Horeswood man through to the quarter-finals after he had too much for Jimmy Dunne (Kilmyshall), winning 21-15, 21-10.

In the Junior 'D' doubles, Jody O'Shaughnessy and Colm Browne from Coolgreany won another epic three-set cliff-hanger, beating Barry Byrne and Jason Byrne 14-21, 21-9, 21-14. In the second Junior 'D' doubles, Kilmyshall pairing Tom Byrne and Jimmy Dunne defeated Brian Busher and Richard Martin from Bridgetown 15-21, 21-13, 21-11.
