Conor was chosen by judges who viewed youngsters from every primary school in County Carlow play in a blitz held in Bagenalstown last April. Conor is the second pupil from the school who has been chosen to play at Croke Park within the past three years following on from the exploits of past pupil Jason O'Neill.

A school spokesman said: 'A huge word of thanks must go to insurance company Allianz whose generous sponsorship of Cumann na mBunscol enables a dream of playing at GAA HQ become a reality for youngsters like Conor.' Conor met Kilkenny hurling star Tommy Walsh when he visited the St Mullins school to raise a green flag last week.
