15 years ago this very week one Irish act replaced another at the top of the UK charts. In fact, it was a case of sisters knocking brother off the top when B*witched twins Sinead and Keavy Lynch toppled their sibling, Boyzone's Shane. 'Blame It On The Weatherman' was the fourth single from the denim-clad B*witched, and their fourth UK number one. They remain the only girl group to debut at No. 1 with their first four singles. ('Blame It On The Weatherman' didn't do so well in Ireland, peaking at number 8). Originally named Butterfly Farm, B*witched sold over three million albums worldwide. In 1998 they cracked the US charts with their very first single 'C'est La Vie' and the album of the same name, but in 2002 were dropped by their record label, and split. They reunited in 2013 and are said to be recording new tracks.
Boyzone's 'When The Going Gets Tough', their version of Billy Ocean's 1985 hit 'When The Going Gets Tough, The Tough Get Going', was recorded for the Comic Relief telethon and sported a video featuring Graham Norton, Jo Brand, Phill Jupitus, Mel Smith, Harry Hill, the cast of Emmerdale and Ulrika Jonsson and Saracen from Gladiators.
