The firm's address is listed as 60 Dingle Road, Cabra, in Dublin 7 but an application for a beer wholesaler's licensed was concerned premises in Enniscorthy.

The company's Eoin McCarthy attended last week's sitting of the court in Gorey seeking to have Unit 7 at the Kilcannon industrial estate on the Old Dublin Road licensed.

He explained that it was intended to use the building for the sale of beer, in quantities of 20 litres and more, to supermarkets and off-licences.

While the products sold will, for the moment, be made by others, the man from the the BBC (Blackstairs Brewing Company) mentioned the rich brewing history associated with County Wexford and Enniscorthy in particular.

He indicted that his firm intends to rejuvenate that tradition and will open a full scale brewery in Enniscorthy some time during 2015.
