Man is assaulted in Glenmore by youths

A Glenmore man is recovering having been assaulted while trying to prevent three youths from breaking into a neighbour's house.

The incident occurred in the curtilage of a house at Graiguenakill, Glenmore, on Thursday, January 26, at around midday.

A Garda spokesperson at Thomastown Garda Station said: 'Three men entered the curtilage of a dwelling. They were observed by a neighbour, (who is in his late 50s), who having made his way to the disturbance, was assaulted by the offenders.'

The man suffered a cut to his arm during the assault and was treated for his injuries afterwards.

One of the offenders is described as being 5ft 11in, with a gaunt face, wearing black clothing and in his late teens to early twenties. Another man was 5ft 5in and was also wearing black clothing, while the third man was described as being 5ft 9in, wearing black clothing.
