The car, which was parked at Upper Ballyhack, was targeted by thieves last Monday evening, November 26.

That same day in nearby Wellingtonbridge, a handbag was taken from a car parked at John's Court.

The car window was smashed by the thieves who made away with the bag.

In the wake of these incidents, gardaí are appealing to people not to leave valuables in their cars at any time.

' There is no place a car will be safe. Don't even try hide things under seats, just don't leave valuables in the car,' said a garda spokesperson.

Anyone with information in relation to these two thefts is asked to contact New Ross Garda Station on 051 421204.
