The sudden deaths of two hugely popular members of the community are being mourned this week.

Michael (Mickey) Curran, aged 52, died suddenly at his home in Hoodsgrove, Rosbercon, last Thursday morning.

Well known through his business and through his work and participation in the Tullogher and Rosbercon Vintage Classic Car Club and St Joseph's AC, a huge crowd attended Mickey's funeral Mass on Sunday.

Steven Byrne passed away tragically aged 30 at his home in Clonroche on Monday morning last. Steven, who was engaged to his partner Natasha, had been living in Clonroche for six years and was due to turn 31 tomorrow. His mother Carol said: 'It's just devastating.'
