LEAVING CERTIFICATE students opened their own pop-up Italian restaurant in Ramsgrange last week where they prepared a three course Italian meal for a group of teachers.
This was a key assignment for twelve Leaving Certificate Applied students' Ethnic Cookery Module in Ramsgrange Community School.
They had a very busy day preparing the food and setting up the room for their invited guests.
On the menu was bruschetta with tomato and basil, lasagne with homemade chips and a choice of desserts - pavlova with fresh fruit or strawberry cheesecake.
The students involved were Hannah Bravery, Martin Hutchinson, Kelly Johnston, William Keating, Graham McNamara, Claire Murphy, Michael O'Grady, Shauna Powell, Richard Rochford, Jason Ryan, Leon Stafford and Leah Walsh.
The event was co-ordinated by their teacher Mairin Dunne and teachers felt very honoured to be invited to the LCA lunch, with some enquiring as to whether it was possible to organise a lunch every week.
