Science Week at library

NEW ROSS Library is participating in Science Week by hosting a number of events, starting on November 13 with a lecture and discussion by Brendan Wallace on The Higgs Boson.

Starting at 7 p.m., the lecture, entitled 'The God Particle', is suitable for secondary school students and adults. Hosted by Brendan Wallace, a consultant engineer and patent holder, who also teaches mathematics, booking is essential.

On November 15, New Ross Library will host an Eco-Unesco's Young Environmentalist Awards information session. Eco-Unesco's Young Environmentalist Awards is an all-Ireland environmental awards programme that recognises and rewards young people who raise environmental awareness and improve the environment, and for their project work on environmental and sustainability areas.

Sarah-Jane Taylor, environmental youth officer with Eco-Unesco, will provide YEA training sessions for students undertaking an environmental action project and a teacher's evening session in New Ross Library on Thursday, November 15, at various times.
