Schoolkids hand over present-filled boxes

THE TRUE spirit of Christmas was evident in the CBS Primary School last week as the young schoolboys handed over shoeboxes, filled with presents and goodies, which will now be presented to children in need.

The schoolchildren filled 68 shoeboxes with non perishable goodies, pencils, copy books and other school supplies and hygiene products as well as cuddly teddies and toys as part of the Team Hope Christmas shoe box appeal.

The charitable initiative, which has been taking place in the CBS for over ten years, is organised by Principal Brian McMahon and Secretary Mary Dungan. ' The kids love doing it,' said Brian. The shoeboxes were collected on Thursday and will be presented to children in Burundi, Romania, Swaziland, Armenia, and Kenya at Christmastime.
