Musical Society's members attend garden party at Aras an Uachtarain
FIVE MEMBERS of New Ross Musical Society were recently honoured with an invitation from President Michael D Higgins and his wife Sabina to attend a garden party in Áras an Uachtaráin.
New Ross Musical Society's Bill Stafford, Melanie Cleary, Seán O'Brien, Dorrie Godkin and Maureen Clarkin attended a reception in Áras an Uachtaráin as an acknowledgement to the contribution of musical societies in their communities.
Mr Stafford said: 'It was an honour for New Ross Musical Society and other societies in the region to be hosted by President Higgins and Sabina in Áras an Uachtaráin. It was a welcome acknowledgment for the hard work and involvement in the community that our society puts into every annual show.'
Attendees were treated to a buffet style banquet, guided tour of Áras an Uachtaráin and live performances from various artists of the musical theatre world including West End star Rebecca Storm.
New Ross Musical Society will announce shortly its show for 2015. New members are always welcome. See the Facebook page for updates.
