The Scoil Mhuire Boys Football team met Kennedy Park NS from Wexford in the County Final in Taghmon last Thurs.A very strong Wexford town side dominated the first half and led 1-6 to 0-1 at half time. Horeswood improved greatly in the 3rd quarter but found scoring difficult. Despite trying hard to the very end they lost 1-10 to 0-5.

There was a good attendance at Horeswood Coiste na nOg AGM last Friday. Secretary Catherine Murphy and Chairman Brian Molloy gave a detailed review of the year. The Under 10 footballers retained the Kent Stainless Cup Div 1 and also won the Sarsfields Tournament Div 1 while the minor footballers won a county title. Sean Stafford, Dale Flynn and Colin Nolan recently played on the Co. U-17 football team while craig Murphy was on the U-16 team.

All players, Selectors, trainers and parents as well as outgoing committee members were thanked for their hard work. Treasurer Pat Hunt gave adetailed financial report which despite a loss during the year showed the club to be in the black.

The popular monthly dance in Ballykelly hall will take place on the 2nd Friday in December and will continue monthly next year.


A meeting of parents of children who will be confirmed next yesr will be held in Scoil Mhuire on Wednesday November 21st at 7.30pm.


Due to a very poor turnout at the AGM last Thursday, it has been decided to disband the Community Games in the parish. The outgoing committee would like to thank everyone that has been involved in the community games to date in helping to make taking part such an enjoyable and successful experience.


Following are the results from last weekend. U10 Girls Campile Utd 2, Ballindaggin 1 -This was a closely contested game with Campile running out winners. The whole team put in a great performance with Amy Ennis scoring both goals for Campile.

U14 Girls Campile Utd 0, Bridge Rovers 0 - Despite there being no goals this was a very exciting match. The Campile girls played really well, with excellent passing throughout the whole team and the defence putting in a very solid performance.

U14 Boys Campile Utd 9. Shamrock Rovers 0 -. The boys kept up their unbeaten run with this big win. Jamie Myler scored five of the goals with Colm Dawkins scoring the othere four.

SOCCER GEAR: Cuchulainn Sports who are the provider of the Campile Utd Soccer gear will be at Campile pitch next saturday from lunchtime with samples of their gear. So anyone who is interested in purchasing items for Xmas will be able to check sizes etc. Soccer Academy training for boys aged between 6 and 8 years old will now be taking place in the GAA indoor pitch on saturday mornings from 10am to 11am. The Ring of Hook No Name Club will be holding their next disco this Friday, November 16th in the Fort Conan Hotel in Duncannon from 9 p.m. to 12 midnight. Admission will cost €7.
