Get fit - or die trying!
THE importance which people attach to getting back in shape at the start of the year was highlighted by the spread of six pages in this newspaper last week on the various keep fit options available at leisure centres around the county.
In addition, there is a vast range of new classes and programmes getting under way everywhere from sports complexes to village halls while the roads and streets of the county are full of people running, walking and strolling. It's amazing how fitness and health has climbed up people's agendas over the years and this is certainly a good thing.
However, I did notice that a few pages on from the health and fitness spread in last week's paper there was a promotion for local funeral directors. I hope there is no connection between the two, or was it a case of the undertakers saying 'we're here to look after you, just in case this fitness lark doesn't work out?'
