First festive Fun Run is a big hit

EAGER TO work off some of the Christmas over indulgence, runners and walkers were to be found at the Pink Rock on St. Stephen's Day burning off the festive excess.

This inaugural Festive Fun Run attracted a large crowd of 120 participants who ran, jogged and walked the five kilometer course.

In keeping with the festive spirit, spot prizes were given out to those who took to the roads in their best Christmas costumes, with Aine McDonald deemed the Best Elf, Kieran Cullen announced as the Best Santa and Stella Keane also bringing home another fancy dress title, while Erin Foley was awarded a prize for being the first child over the line.

Organised by St Joseph's Athletics Club and Fit4Life, the run raised €595 which will go towards running the athletics club.

Thanks are extended to the great numbers who took part.
