FOLLOWING HIS Movember campaign, hairdresser Eugene Alehno is on the fundraising trail once again but this time he aims to break a world record.
Throughout the month of November Eugene Alehno of Hairland on Quay Street was encouraging men to get behind his local campaign to grow a ' mo' and raise vital funds for the Irish Cancer Society as well as awareness for men's health, specifically prostate cancer.
And now he is looking for no less than seventy willing volunteers who are prepared to dye their hair in February.
Eugene, who is the proprietor of Hairland on Quay Street, wants to break a world record set by Peter Mark senior colourist, Damien Bennett, who dyed 62 heads green, white and orange on February 16 and 17, 2012 during a marathon colouring event.
According to Eugene the aim is to break the Guinness World Record for the most heads of hair dyed in 24-hours by an individual.
With this in mind he is looking for men and woman, preferably with short hair, who are willing to have their hair dyed on February 18 and 19.
His marathon 24-hour endeavour will take place from 11 a.m. that morning.
The event, which will raise funds for the Irish Cancer Society, has already been registered with the Guinness Book of Records.
