There was great excitement in Donard NS recently as the school held its open night.

The school and pupils showed the parents the wonderful art, writing, ICT and various projects that they have been working on.

The senior class pupils spoke about the wide range of activities, sports and initiatives that they have been involved in.

Donard NS principal Sinéad Parnell told parents about the pupil's great achievements.

She explained to parents that with small classes the amount of individual attention pupils receive has greatly improved their attainment across the curriculum.

Ms Parnell praised the U11 credit union quiz team and the U11 Cumann na mBunscoil doubles who have reached All Ireland finals.

She praised the pupils' enthusiasm for the Junior Enterprise Programme, green schools, student council, Active Schools Week, mini sevens, rounders and gardening etc.

The school is still taking enrolments and further information is available at 053 9244295 or 085 2150917.
