The weekly '30' Card game continues in the Community this Friday 25th January at 9pm there is €220 in prize money to be won each week. Thanks to the ladies for the teas last week. Catering on 25th January will be Mary Kirwan, Jospehine Hendrick & Lorna Komsa. Proceeds going to Parish Funds. Card winners on Friday 11th January were: Phil Jackman, Ray Rochford, Terry McDonald, Ann Byrne, Nick Doyle, Andy Reville, Sean Cullen, John Nolan, Ned Evoy, Patsy Byrne, Kay Whelan & Marian McCauley.

ADAMSTOWN LOTTO

A presentation will be made to Bobby English, the Jackpot winner on Monday 21st January in Foleys Pub, Newbawn at 8.45pm. As the Jackpot winner, Bobby will be presented with a cheque for €12,345 by the Lotto Chairman, Mossie Walsh. His son, Michael English will be presented with a cheque for €1,000 as seller of the winning ticket. The new Jackpot is €4,100 and tickets are on sale in Raheen Post Office, Cullens Gala Store, Brad Ógs, Cullens Pub, Foleys Pub and Morrisseys Pub, Cassagh.

GAA UPDATE

The AGM of Adamstown GAA Club was held on Sunday 13th January at 4pm in Adamstown Community Centre. The following Officers were elected: Harry Curtis, Chairman, Dessie Doyle, Vice Chairman, Joan Furlong, Secretary, Michael Doran, Asst Secretary, Maura Carroll, Treasurer, John Kent, Asst Treasurer and Jimmy McDonald, PRO.

The following team managers were appointed: Pat Barden, Senior Football Manager, Eddie Dillon, Senior Hurling Manager, Tom Foley and John Kent, Junior A Football Management, Jimmy Furlong, Junior B Hurling Manager, MJ Cooper, Under 21 Hurling Manager and Brendan Kehoe, Under 21 Football Manager.

Membership Fees were agreed as follows: Adult Player €90,Student/ Unemployed Adult Player €45, Non-playing Adult member €30, OAP €20, Family Membership €90, Child €30. A Registration Night for the Adult Club will be held from 8pm to 9pm on Friday 25th January in Adamstown Community Centre. All adult players, mentors, management, non-playing adults, OAPs and new members are welcome.

ADAMSTOWN CAMOGIE

The Club hopes to start training again near the end of January, early Feb we are looking for trainers/coaches to help out with age groups u12, U14 and U16 if you know of anyone who is willing to help with this can you please get in contact with Geraldine Doyle 087 9019838 or Carol Mernagh 087 9189985 if we cant get anyone to train we will be unable to compete in these age groups Many thanks again for all the support we received in 2012.

MIXED FITNESS CLASSES

Come to the Adamstown Community Centre every Tuesday at 7pm for a mixed circuits and yoga toning. Contact Denise on 086 3546676 for more information.

ZUMBA FITNESS

Zumba Fitness classes are in the Adamstown Community Centre on every Tuesday morning at 9.30am and Thursday evening at 7.30pm. Contact Gemma on 087 4166191.

PARENTS THANKS

Adamstown National School Parents Association wish to thank all those who supported their "Clothes Collection" Fundraiser on Wednesday last. They were delighted with the amount of clothes received and it was a great success

WEIGH LIGHTER

The Weigh Lighter nutrition & Weight Classes are now in full swing for the New Year and if you plan to get fit and healthy now is the time to join up. The classes take place in Berry Sports & physiotherapy centre, Adamstown every Monday night from 6pm to 7pm

FOLK GROUP

There will be a Folk group practice on Monday 28th January at 8pm in St Abbans Church. All members please attend.

SYMPATHY

Condolences to Kieran & Breda Kinsella FairFields on the tragic Death of Pa Kinsella whose funeral took place from St.Aidans Cathedral on Tuesday. Sympathy also to his parents, brothers, fiancee & his children.

Pa was described in media reports as the "Good Samaritan" whose concern for others involved in the M11 Tragedy led him to become a victim himself. Kieran's brother Owen predeceased him a short time ago. May the God of all consolation console them in their grief, May they rest in peace.

HIP HOP CLASSES

Hip Hop Classes from 1st Class up are in Raheen Hall every Friday from 3.15 till 4.15 €6.00 per child come along a join the fun.
