The ceremony took place last week in The Shelbourne Hotel, and Wild About were presented with their award by An Taoiseach Enda Kenny.

'We didn't expect anything like that,' said a delighted Fiona. 'I'm thrilled. For us to be one of the Good Food Ireland winners is huge.'

The company, founded two years ago, is also the current All Ireland Farmers' Market Champion and it has two gold stars from the UK Great Taste Awards.

'Our ethos is we grow it locally or we source it locally,' explained Fiona. 'Our range changes depending on the seasonal harvests. We specialise in growing wild ingredients.'

Their products are already stocked in outlets across 14 counties and expansion plans are underway. They hope to take on an employee in the new year. 'It's constantly about scaling up and keeping up with demand,' said Fiona.

The awards ceremony was attended by 350 guests from agri food and tourism hospitality businesses.

Speaking at the awards, Margaret Jeffares, Founder of Good Food Ireland said 'Fiona and Malcolm are completely passionate about what they do. They have created a unique range of dressings, chutneys and syrups from their garden in County Wexford using seasonal crops and plants.'
