Holiday homes not always suitable for all year living
HOLIDAY homes are not always suitable for year round accommodation, according to Cllr. Malcolm Byrne.
He raised the issue of council housing applicants who have been assigned to houses in the Riverchapel area of Courtown.
These dwellings had been designed as summer houses, he suggested and he wanted Wexford County Council to stop leasing such homes, which are difficult to keep warm in the winter.
Director of housing services Tony Larkin said he was not award of a wholesale problem and he asked councillors to let him know of any local authority houses which do not have central heating.
