There's something magical about a Christmas concert in St. Iberius and this one didn't disappoint.

The venue was perfectly suited to what Ritter was trying to do on this tour. He has been performing a series of stripped-back gigs around the country in recent weeks, and the acoustics in St Iberius were ideal for the unplugged show. Ritter and two band members, both sporting spectacular facial hair, pushed the absolute limits of what can be achieved at an unplugged live show, gathering around a single microphone with regular guitars, Spanish guitars, banjo, double bass and mandolin.

Hits like 'Kathleen', 'Best of the Best' and an outstanding rendition of 'Snow Is Gone' which saw him leap off the stage and make his way down the aisle into the crowd, went down a treat with the audience, as did new material such as 'A Certain Light'. One of the highlights of the evening however was a completely stripped back solo performance of 'Another New World' which is a beautiful song at the best of times, and in this setting just perfect.

Ritter and his band seemed to genuinely enjoy playing in such a unique venue and have promised to return, much to the delight of the audience who left feeling they had witnessed something special.
